I suggest parking at or near N54° 52.550, W03° 48.819 to respect the residents’ use of the riverfront road and walking through to Rockliffe, perhaps returning along the Jubilee Path. On the way you will pass the causeway (only usable at low tide) to Rough Island which was intended to be the location of a conventional cache, but access in the Spring is restricted to allow peace and quiet for the nesting birds.
So for this virtual cache - I ask for 2 things.
1) Please tell me what's engraved on the plaque.
2) Take a photo of yourself or some other identifying mark (your caching name on paper, your personal trackable, etc) and upload it with your log, but don't include the plaque!
You can message me through the message centre through my profile (preferred) or via email (again through my profile) - Link to profile
Logs without the required information risk being deleted.
Then enjoy the rest of the collection of flotsam and jetsam which is displayed.
You may also find the story of the Covenanters and their macabre memorial at N54° 52.356, W03° 48.761. For extra brownie points you could also e-mail me the names of the unfortunate ladies.
