The 35th event of a CITO series around Canberra. This CITO focuses on public land between Esplin Street and Marjorie Matthews Street in Taylor.
Having been here for caching and running in recent weeks, I noticed significant litter has accumulated from passing pedestrians in the public grassland, and particularly the creekbed, here, hence why it is worth of a CITO. (Note: we will not be working on roads for this event.) Being public land, members of the public (such as ourselves) can freely dispose of litter from this area without needing permission from the land owners (the local government). All rubbish collected will be transported away from the site by the event host (or other CITO attendees, should they be willing), and disposed off in large garbage bins at my home address (these bins are large enough to accommodate bulky items). Any bulky items that cannot be moved from the site will be reported to the ACT government using "Fix my street" and government employees will transport these items to the tip.
Garbage bags and nitrile gloves will be supplied should you wish to use them. Rubbish grabber/pick up tools are recommended if you have them. Sturdy shoes and sensible clothing are also recommended.
If you attended any of the previous CITO events in this series, then you may have a good idea of what to look for at the meeting point. If not, then look for the ๐, and look up!
