Geocache Description:

This multi cache is located north of the picturesque villages of Monxton and Amport in an area which is known locally as the cross tracks. To complete the multi you will need to locate 8 iron objects which give clues to lead you to the final cache.

The first location is the car park of the Amport Inn which is conveniently situated for pre or post caching sustenance. An attached picture indicates opening/dining times. The barmaid who I spoke to was happy for people to use the car park even if going off for a walk, without obligation. Walk out the back of the pub car park to the field to get to the first waypoint. If the car park is full then there is alternative parking at N51° 11.995 W001° 33.724. Walk along the nearby signed footpath to the first waypoint.

If you follow the waypoints in the order listed you will be able to enjoy a circular walk of just over 3 miles across open countryside with nice views. All routes are marked footpaths. The paths may be muddy at some stages so boots would be advisable. There are some stiles to negotiate but they were all managed by our Labrador Ben without needing to be lifted over any of them. There are a couple of places where it would be wise to put your dog on a lead due to the possibility of encountering animals. One field that you need to cross contains horses.

Follow the waypoints to retrieve the clues.

1) [ N51° 11.988 W001° 33.411 ] Under tension - Find two numbers N and O

2) [ N51° 11.996 W001° 33.373 ] Cross the stile - Dog owners be aware, there may be horses in the next field. Walk to the North East side of the field.

3) [ N51° 12.313 W001° 33.284 ] A Harrowing experience - Find 3 numbers A B and C. You may see birds of prey flying above the hawk conservancy to the west.

4) [ N51° 12.642 W001° 33.333 ] Ribbons of Steel - Find the sticky microcache to get D,E and F. Count the rails to get G.

5) [ N51° 12.429 W001° 32.812 ] Lookout point Roe deer often graze to the south of this track.

6) [ N51° 12.229 W001° 32.746 ] Broken Tooth ? - Find the Microcache to get H I and J

7) [ N51° 12.013 W001° 33.041 ] Morning Star - Count the points of the star to get K. You might see Roe deer to the North and South of this location.

Dog owners beware- There are often Guinea Fowl just before the next waypoint. You will soon hear them if they are around.

8) [ N51° 12.020 W001° 33.215 ] Iron Shod Horses - Look to the WEST and count the horses to get L.

9) [ N51° 11.922 W001° 33.243 ] Iron is stronger than wood - Count the bars running through the tree to get M.

10) [ N51° 12.009 W001° 33.304 ] Cross the stile to return to the footpath. Dog owners beware, there may be horses in field. Walk to the west side of the field. If you look in the field to the south there are usually some inquisitive Llamas.

11) [ N51° 11.933 W001° 33.656 ] Pumping Iron - Find the number to get P.

You should now have all the answers;

A=____ B=____ C=____ D=____ E=____ F=____ G=____ H=____

I=____ J=____ K=____ L=____ M=____ N=____ O=____ P=____

The final cache is located at;

N51 (C) (I) ° . (J+L) (D) (M)

W001 (H) (P) ° . (O) (K-E) (B)

We hope that you enjoy the walk. The final is now about 500m from the last clue but is much less likely to get muggled
