Kverndammen tilhører et nokså langt og inntakt elveløp, med endel meandreing bevart. Lokaliteten følger elva Namnåa, sør for tettstedet Namnå, hele strekningen fra Namnsjøen og ned til RV20. Kongeøyenstikker patruljerer strekningen .
