Welcome to Pacifica Steeper, a big brother version to Pacifica Steep. Bring oxygen for this one.
Please use the hint which gives you the intended starting point directions. There are potentially other routes/locations to start at that would likely cheat the terrain rating. It is a 4-star terrain if you start from the posted directions on the hint. My motivation for this cache was to generate the only 4-star terrain in Pacifica and encourage you to fully exercise the challenge.
Assuming you start from the posted directions on the hint, you may or may not need to do some bushwhacking depending on what route you take. Either way can still lead you to the top but one is definitely more challenging than the other. Please be aware of poison oak.
The elevation of the cache is achieved in a relatively short distance so be prepared for an extremely strenuous climb. It is close to a 40% grade based on a rough calculation.
As consistent with my other Pacifica caches, there are great views of the coast to enjoy once you reach the top. You will also get an overlook at the smaller Pacifica Steep cache hill.
