This is one of 36 Girl Scout geocaches that will be placed in Nassau County representing the 36 Girl Scout Councils in the county.

The Girl Scout Gold Award is the highest award a girl can earn in Girl Scouting. For my own Gold Award, I thought it would be a great idea to use geocaching to showcase other girl's Gold Awards.

Theresa Schneider made a “10 Commandments Garden” on her church’s property in 2011. She had the Sunday school classes and her fellow Girl Scouts help her plant flowers in the garden while they learned about nature and their faith.

Please note that over the years, the requirements to earn this award have changed.
