About this cache:
Welcome to The Adventure at Beaver Meadow – where you get to choose how you complete this cache!
You read that right – you can choose one of two ways to find this cache – one is a straight-forward traditional cache, the other is an expertly arranged letterbox where you’ll use clues to find this most sought after of treasures.
Ready? Here are your options!
Option #1: Get the coords, find the cache.
The coordinates that will take you right to the cache are hidden inside the Beaver Meadow Nature Center. The Nature Center is 100% free, full of incredibly educational and interesting information, and is open:
- Tuesday through Saturday from 9am-5pm
- Sunday from 1pm-5pm
- Closed Mondays and major holidays
If you plan to visit Beaver Meadow during these hours, all you do is go in the front door (near the coordinates at the top of this page), enter the main building and look for the information desk. In the bottom right corner of the sliding glass door at the information desk you’ll find the coordinates. These will take you right to the cache.
Feeling much more adventurous? Lucky you, because we have just the thing!...
Option #2: Follow the clues, find the cache and be celebrated as a mighty hero.
To find the cache, follow the clues below step-by-step:
- Start by standing on the porch at the posted coordinates above. Survey the meadow, and find the “Insect Hotel”.
- The Eastern Carpenter Bee will point you in the right direction!
- Follow the mowed path until you enter the woods.
- Continue walking – passing the Beaver Lodges Cabin on your left.
- Pass the Cabin, and continue your trek until you come to the intersection of the Beaver Pond Trail and Pondside Trails.
- Select the path that takes you towards the water.
- Continue down the trail, following it along the water's edge.
- If you’re going the right way, spend some time ogling the view from the “The Lookout”.
- As you continue your journey, you’ll arrive at "T" in the trail. Sit and enjoy a short rest with Sisler.
- As you fancy a sit staring at where you just came from, look to your right (and then go that way).
- In short order you’ll pass by the Fern Gardens.
- You’ll know you’re close when see the floating porch…
- …but don’t head up to the old “Homestead,” instead go towards the "Beaver Dam" and in just a few steps learn about a Beaver Pond!
- After you've found some interesting literature about beavers...
- …pay attention to where the majority of them are pointing.
- At the base of a large standing maple tree you’ll find the cache!

Our sincerest gratitude to Beaver Meadow Audubon for permission to put a cache in this beautiful location. Last, and probably least (hahaha), thank you to Szuchie for placing this cache.
Fun fine print:
All final caches are 30 caliber ammo cans or larger. Permission was given to place this cache by the land owner / manager. Please respect their property by leaving no trace, practicing Cache-In-Trash-Out and replacing the cache better than you found it. Enjoy!
