Why Did The Bear Cross The Road? Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

BlueRajah: Hi ,

As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm temporarily archiving this to keep it from continually showing up in search lists. Just contact us when you have the cache repaired, and assuming it still meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

Thank you,

Geocache Description:

To get to the Cache I hid. While searching Odgen Canyon for a good place to hide our cache, we found a great on a shoulder across from an Alaskan Bear. We scouted the area for a perfect hiding spot, and we think we found one. Beware of muggles getting their mail. We tried to stay away from them, but if you’re not careful, they could see you replacing the cache. We hid an ammo box that is painted blue. Have fun finding it.

FYI: Gloves or long sleeves might be useful for reaching the cache. When you’re done, please cover the cache better than you found it. The blue box kinda stands out but that’s the color we had already painted it. Thanks

Ogden Canyon was designated last year as one of the top 10 best spots to see the fall foliage. I particularly love the canyon and in the Spring and Summer, and the Winter season brings skiers up it from near and far. But we couldn’t find many caches in this area that didn’t require some serious hiking or off-roading. So we wanted to place some caches for travelers that don’t have a lot of time to spend hiking or biking, but would like a reason to pull off the road and stretch their legs. With this in mind, this is the second of 3 caches we placed as we journeyed up the canyon and through Ogden Valley on a beautiful summer day in August 2007.

Because of our travels in June, we really came to appreciate those “caches along a route” and “vacation destination” caches. So we decided to hide more caches that were especially designed for weary travelers that are looking for a quick cache that’s barely off the beaten path.
