Geocache Description:

Ghosts, suicides, ritual murders, the usual stuff we have to deal with in Geocaching.

Some call this place the Black Heart of Van Cortlandt Park; the locals call it Franky's Castle. Nobody can tell me anything about the eponymous Franky. None of my informants have actually witnessed any of the goings on though each one knows somebody who knows somebody who did. Tales of witchcraft practiced, abductions, and doors that only appear at night under the first full moon of the summer have come to me, but I could not verify any of them. Strangeusa.com has a listing for Franky's Castle, but it is rather meager in information:

"Frankie's Castle -You can see an old man with a flashlight. He seems to be yelling something but you can't hear him."

It is quite possible that that was me (Behistun) yelling to Navigator as we were setting out the cache, but that is another story.
There is a great deal of bounce to be encountered near the structure. I don't know if it is caused by natural phenomena (or otherwise) but I have left a rather explicit hint for those who might like to spend as little time near this infernal monument as possible. This cache lies in the shadows of the Castle but only at certain times of the year. Add an extra two stars to the difficulty rating if you seek it at night, and three stars on Halloween.

Congratulations to mmacgown & Dog and Bear for co-FTF honors!

Congratulations also go to JOPT who found the original placement, which was believed to have been muggled
