Roadside cache with limited parking nearby
It is thought that this toll House was built by the Dartmouth,Torquay and Shaldon Trust after the opening of the Shaldon Bridge when a new road was constructed to link with Torquay in the late 1820s It is a two storey property on two roads (not quite at the junction)the other road going between Shaldon and Newton Abbot. Named The Old Toll House, from the Torquay road it doesn`t look like one but if you go down the road and round the corner onto the road to Combe Cellars there remain typical windows. It was used as a guest house for some time but now stands empty. As it is not listed it may well make way for a more modern property. There is room to park for a short time in Topcliffe road(turning space at the end). Sit on the seat and take in the scene! The cache is a nano and a tool is needed to get to the log!
