in our disclaimer.
This micro is hidden in Butler Holmes Park, located in South Arlington. This park boasts lots of open space, a basketball court, playground, picnic shelter and several picnic tables and grills. Parking on the street is plentiful and there are not restrictions. The park is closed at night.
This is a micro that is well camoed. Height could be an advantage. It will hold several foreign coins and a log. Please bring your own pen/pencil to sign the log. We started this cache with seven different coins from the following countries: Spain, Yugoslavia, Italy, the Netherlands, Denmark, Belgium and Portugal. We hope you enjoy finding this cache and trading coins.
Congratulations! FTF was karlvn. This was karlvn's first FTF.
Thanks to karlvn for the great history piece re: this park:
The park gets its name from William H. Butler and H.L. Holmes, both African-Americans and prominent residents of Arlington County in the late 19th century. Together they bought a piece of farmland in 1882, subdivided it, and sold off the lots, primarily to other African-Americans. Many of the buyers, like Mr. Butler, were former residents of Freedman's Village, a government-established settlement for former slaves located on the grounds of Arlington House, and now part of Arlington Cemetery.
