This cache was initially hidden for the kids attending the first annual NWPA Geocacher's Picnic held in shelter #3 at Presque Isle on May 24th, 2003.

Written instructions were handed out at the picnic for the smaller kids that didn't use a GPS. I decided to make it a permanent cache so that there will be an easy one at Presque Isle that the kids can find without the help of the adults (though an adult should be present, if only for moral support!).

The initial contents were mostly donated by the members of the NWPA Geocachers Club, and included a SpongeBob sticker book donated by D1 Scouter, Go Fish cards donated by Mr. and Mrs. Frogman 47, toothbrushes and paste donated by Capt. Jim (a dentist), and lots of other goodies donated by the above and also the Musketeer Gang.

(The cache can also be reached using a GPS with the coordinates above)

***THIS CACHE IS IN AN AMMO CAN, NOT A SMALL RUBBERMAID-TYPE CONTAINER FULL OF ROCKS. AT ONE TIME THERE WAS A "DUMMY" CACHE, WHICH WAS PART OF MIKE CHMI'S FELLOWSHIP OF THE RINGS CACHE, LESS THAN 50 FEET FROM MY CACHE (AND FITS THE ABOVE DESCRIPTION). IF YOU FIND THIS, LEAVE IT BE AND KEEP SEARCHING!!!***

The directions for the kids are as follows:

1) Start in the Waterworks parking lot next to the building with the restrooms, which is next to the playground, and in front of the pond with the walkway out to a little shelter in the middle of it.

2) Find the trail in the corner of the parking lot, close to 4 posts.***UPDATE...Posts are no longer there...the trailhead should be pretty obvious.

3) Walk down this trail until you find a large tree shaped like the letter "Y". It will be on your left hand side.

4) Look across the trail from the "Y" and you will see a long, cut tree (stump) laying on its side, with the roots sticking up in the air.

5) Step over this stump and walk into the woods about 50 feet or so. The cache is behind a fallen-down tree.

6) Congratulations!!! You found it!!! Be sure to write a note in the log book and trade a goody if you want! Have mom or dad log your find on the website and let me know how you liked it.
