Geocache Description:

A Multi-Cache which involves either a reasonably short walk from a car prarking area to the cache area, or, a long walk along the coastal path or quiet back road.

*WARNING* the ground is often damp and slippery so take care especially if it has recently rained. Although buggies etc are useable, there will be times along the way that they and the children will need to walk or be carried. Also I would not recommend that wheelchairs attempt the journey.

This cache can either be sought by taking a long walk from Boverton/Llantwit Major or Aberthaw, or a short walk from the nearby car park, the co-ordinates of which are: N51 23.390 W003 26.839.

This should now lead you to something of National Importance and Interest to both young and old which at certain times on certain days is open to the public.

Once at the location you will find a notice board, upon which you will find 2 phone numbers. Use the number which is local to this location for completing the final co-ords for the cache.
These are: N51 23. F (A-C-D) E W003 26.(C+F) (B-D) (B-A-D) where A=1st digit, B= 2nd digit etc, but DO NOT include the area code.

The cache is a 0.5 ltr Flip Top Box in a cammo bag, inside which are the logbook in a separate bag to keep it dry, a spare bag for the log, some spare elastic bands and some small swaps.
The box is no more than 50 metres away from the notice board in-front of you, which you can just see from GZ, and there is no need to leave the foot path. As the cache is easily reached from the path, please try to keep signs of retrieving it to a minimum.

Depending on your route back, some people may notice the ruins of an old building just a short stroll along the path to the car park. This ruin is the Old Summerhouse. The Summerhouse was
built in around 1730 by the Seys family. The Summerhouse is octagonal and set within an octagonal enclosure. The adjoining cottage was occupied by the caretaker and the building was still inhabited in the 1920s. The Summerhouse is within an Iron Age fort dated 700BC to 100AD.
