Lahdessa toiminut Asko Kodinkoneen tehdas suljetaan. Tehtaan slovenialainen Gorenje omistajayhtiö on päättänyt toiminnan lopettamisesta ja 106 henkilön irtisanomisesta. Tehdas suljetaan heinäkuussa, kun liesien valmistus siirtyy Lahdesta Tsekkiin syksyyn mennessä.
Gorenjen omistukseen Lahdessa toimiva kodinkonevalmistaja Askon liesitehdas siirtyi pari vuotta sitten. Viime vuonna tehtaalla valmistettiin 53 000 liettä.
Asko Kodinkoneella on juuret 1930-luvulle saakka. Tuotteet ovat olleet Upo-merkkisiä.

Asko Kodinkone factory will be closed in Lahti. Slovenian owner Gorenje has decided to close operation of the factory and layoff the 106 employees. The factory will be closed in July, when the cooker production is moved from Lahti to Czech by the autumn.
Gorenje became owner of the Asko’s cooker-factory in Lahti couple of years ago. Production last year was 53 000 cookers.
The roots of Asko Kodinkone are from 1930’ies. Brand name has been Upo.
