Today is the 31st anniversary of The Golden Girls final episode that was aired on television May 9, 1992. This show revolved around four older single women (three widows and one divorcée) who shared a house in Miami that experience the joys and angst of their golden years together. There is the strong-willed Dorothy, spacey Rose, Southern belle Blanche, and Dorothy's mom Sophia. They occasionally clash, but they are there for one another until the end. The show had a catchy theme song titled "Thank You for Being a Friend."

The shows finale was not the end of the Golden Girls. They appeared on other shows like Empty Nest and also went on to do another show called Golden Palace where it followed the girls daily running of a Miami hotel. More recently in 2015 the Golden Girls (and their classic theme song) popped up in an episode of Teen Titans Go. It was there that Cyborg comes into possession of a Green Lantern ring, which he uses to create facsimiles of the Golden Girls to battle Darkseid to save the Justice League.

Cyborg - “This ring is the most powerful weapon in the universe. It can manifest anything with your willpower alone. Witness its power!”

Robin - “Are those the Golden Girls?”

Cyborg - “You know it. What up, Bea?”

Robin - “That ring can manifest any weapon imaginable, and you choose the Golden Girls?

Cyborg - “These sassy old broads are the toughest ladies around. When the chips are down, you want the Golden Girls in your corner!”

Sadly, the Golden Girls were quickly disintegrated by Darkseid's Omega Beams. Cyborg then drops to his knees, and cries out "NOOOOOO! How will we ever learn to balance cutting humor and loving friendship without you? Ha hah! So come on down to The Spot on Mill Street at 5:30 for another Tuesday night geocaching event. Street parking is available nearby, but I also posted the overflow lot as a back up. You don't purchase food to attend, but you must be prepared for cutting edge humor and loving friendship!

So since I can't hang out there, and since I don’t have enough time to go home and get anything done, I am going to host a geocaching event.

The Heart of the idea of having these events was for me to reach out to as many new venues as I could and see if I could get permission to host a geocaching event. So join me on my quest to try different things and keep it fresh.
