Macatawa River Kayak Series
The Macatawa River Kayak Series is made up of 5 kayak accessible geocaches on an Upper Section of the Macatawa River in Holland. All of the caches have been placed in a manor that should not require you to exit you kayak. All 5 caches are micro sized so be sure to bring your own writing utensil.
On your trip, be prepared to see some wildlife, also be sure to bring some bug spray in summer months. I found this to be a very peaceful and secluded trip, in the middle of a busy suburban area. These caches are located between Adam's Landing and Paw Paw Park. This is only a short section of river so, be sure to check out the other great paddle caches up river from Paw Paw Park!
Trip Notes, due north of cache No. 3, there is a large downed tree spanning the entire length of the river. With the slick steep riverbanks, this made for an interesting portage. I did it, but not without getting wet. Please take caution.
Cache No. 1
This is your first stop from Adams Landing, on your way, there is a stretch of easy rapids. Take the time to check out the wildlife and the placid sounds of water around you. This cache is a Yellow Bison Tube hanging around chest/head level.
