Nation Valley ATV Club trails are new to the Ottawa area. This unopened road allowance was opened (with permission from the City of Ottawa) recently, and is a twisty and narrow trail leading along a deep creek.
When opening this road allowance, we were surprised to find an old rock fence, running most of the way along the far edge of the road allowance. Likely a fenceline of days long ago. The trail winds back and forth avoiding larger trees, so it comes close to the rock fence and ventures away from it. This was a popular rest spot for the volunteers cutting this trail as it was a cool shady area to sit on the rocks and have a cool drink of water.
On your ATV you can access this cache coming from the North as well as the South. On foot, either direction also works; however, I would have to say that coming from the South is the more scenic and dryer direction to come from. No matter which direction you come from, this is not a flip-flops and shorts adventure, at minimum water resistance hiking boots are recommended.
The South Entrance to this road allowance begins as a gentleman's laneway, please do not block his laneway
