Geocache Description:

Are you ready for a fun geocaching day on the river?

Come be a part of the fun. There is an event to celebrate the launching of a new Geocache Water Trail.  All of the caches are only accessible by boat/kayak/canoe/raft or other flotation device. There are quite a  few caches to get so come and get a FTF Water Geocache.

The float is from The Causeway Fishing Access Area to Black Sandy State Park and is 3.9 miles long and should take about two hours to complete.

There will be a picnic at Black Sandy after the float. We are guessing the boaters will arrive about noon, and the picnic will start soon after. If you're not wanting to do the float trip and just want to hang out at Black Sandy you are welcome to do so. Shell618 will be "holding down the fort" on that end while everyone else is on the water so come keep her company if you are unable to (or just don't want to) participate in the boating fun.

The boating portion of the event will begin as close to 10AM as possible (see Logistics below). The picnic portion of the event will start about noon on Saturday, July 1st, and end at 2pm.  All the caches on the water trail will be going live that morning.

Cachers wishing to participate in the float trip must be at the Causeway Fishing Access Area (N46 42.227 W111 54.254) Between 9:00AM & 9:30AM so we can all be in the water by 10:00AM.

LOGISTICS: In order to have all vehicles at the end, all watercraft will be unloaded at The Causeway then Shell618 will follow groups of 4 people to the Day Use Area in Black Sandy State Park (less than 10 minutes away) and ferry participants back to the boat launching area. She will hang out at Black Sandy State Park Day Use Area watching over all vehicles, coolers, etc. while the float is in progress.

Hot dogs and water will be provided, but you are welcome to bring your own favorite picnic lunch. If you choose to partake in the Hot Dog lunch, please bring a side or dessert to share.

DON'T FORGET YOUR PFD, SUNSCREEN, SUNGLASSES, A BOTTLE OF WATER, and WATERPROOF BAG or CASE FOR YOUR CELL PHONE, GPSr, ETC! Car keys, wallets, purses, and any other valuables can be left at Black Sandy under watch by Shell618.
