[ITA] LITTLE FREE LIBRARY E BOOKCROSSING
Little Free Library è un'organizzazione non profit il cui scopo è quello di infondere l'amore per la lettura, costruire comunità e stimolare la creatività promuovendo scambi di libri in tutto il mondo. Attraverso le Little Free Libraries si scambiano milioni di libri ogni anno, aumentando notevolmente il loro acceso a lettori di tutte le età e origini. L'idea di queste biblioteche pubbliche si è diffusa in Wisconsin nel 2009, quando Todd Bol installò un contenitore di legno a forma di scuola su un palo nel suo giardino come tributo a sua madre, amante dei libri e insegnante. Sia la popolarità che il successo della sua idea crebbero velocemente ed alla fine del 2012 le biblioteche superavano i 4.000 modelli. Ad oggi, l'organizzazione vanta più di 50.000 Little Free Libraries registrate in oltre 70 Paesi in tutto il mondo e attraverso il suo Impact Fund ha reso possibili scambi di libri in aree dove la motivazione alla lettura e il senso di comunità andavano incentivati.
Il Book Crossing è invece la Biblioteca del Mondo. Questa attività è spesso definita anche come la pratica di lasciare un libro in un luogo pubblico per essere preso e letto da altri che faranno poi lo stesso. Dando al libro un'identità unica (il codice che potete vedere sull'etichetta di ogni libro), questo può poi essere tracciato man mano che passa da lettore a lettore in giro per il mondo.

Grazie alla destrezza nel fai-da-te del nostro 'uomo di casa', la nostra idea è finalmente diventata realtà ed ora eccola qui, a disposizione di tutti coloro che come noi hanno un debole per i libri e la lettura. O anche per il Geocaching! Dopotutto, cosa c'è di meglio che combinare due piaceri in uno? Dopo aver curiosato tra i titoli potreste infatti fare anche un tentativo con questa 'cache letteraria'. Il contenitore è abbastanza grande ed è ideale per i Trackables.
Durante la vostra visita, se fate conto di prendere un libro sarebbe molto apprezzato se ne lasciaste anche uno, così che la Library rimanga sempre ben fornita per tutti coloro in cerca di un buon libro!
NB! Insieme ai libri troverete taccuino e matita: questo non è il logbook!!! Lasciate pure un segno del vostro passaggio, ma la cache non è proprio così in bella vista!

Little Free Library is a non-profit organisation that inspires a love of reading, builds community and sparks creativity by fostering neighbourhood book exchanges around the world. Through Little Free Libraries, millions of books are exchanged each year, profoundly increasing access to books for readers of all ages and backgrounds. The public bookcase idea was popularised in Wisconsin in 2009, when Todd Bol mounted a wooden container designed to look like a school house on a post in his lawn as a tribute to his mother, who was a book lover and a teacher. His idea rapidly grew in both popularity and success and by the end of 2012, the libraries exceeded 4,000 models. As of today, the organisation claims more than 50,000 registered Little Free Libraries over 70 countries worldwide and through its Impact Fund, it has enabled book exchanges in areas where reading motivation and community connectedness needed improving.
Book Crossing is instead the World's Library. This activity is often also described as the practice of leaving a book in a public place to be picked up and read by others, who then do likewise. By giving a book a unique identity (the code you can see on the labels of each book), this can then be tracked as it is passed on from reader to reader around the world.
So, welcome then to Candoglia's Little Free Library!
Thanks to the DIY skills of our 'man of the house', our idea has eventually turned into a reality and here it is available to all those who like us have a soft spot for books and reading. Or indeed for Geocaching! After all, what is better than combining two pleasures into one? After browsing the titles, you might in fact also want to give this 'literary cache' a try. The container is quite big and works well for Trackables.
During your visit, if you plan on taking a book, it would be great to leave one too, in order to keep the Library always well-stocked for everyone in search of a good read!
NB! With the books, you'll also find a notebook and a pencil: this is not the logbook!!! Feel free to leave a message of your visit, but the cache is not so in plain sight!
