What:
We will be picking up trash along Chase St. This area is part of the Little Calumet River flood plain and it is home to a lot of different wildlife. Unfortunately, a lot of people dump garbage here. We will spend our time cleaning up this garbage.
Where:
The coordinates are where we will meet to start our trash pick up. You can park along the side of the road near the coordinates. While we will be picking up garbage alongside the road, this is not a busy street and it is rather wide. Children are welcome.
When:
Saturday, April 22nd from 9am-11am
What to bring:
- Wear long pants, sturdy footwear and long sleeves
- Bring work gloves if you have them (I only have a few pair)
Supplies provided:
- There will be some sort of snack provided and water; feel free to bring your own
- Trash bags will be provided
- The Little Calumet River Basin Development Commission will be providing a dumpster
Door Prizes:
Following the CITO we will have a door prize drawing. I have a few door prizes and if anyone else would like to donate a door prize please let me know.
If you attend a CITO event during the weeks of April 22-30 you will earn a CITO 2017 souvenir.
