Geocache Description:

One of many rest areas provided around the lake

Located on an extension of the Bendigo Creek Trail our GZ is positioned within a small pine plantation on the edge of Crusoe Reservoir where a very popular walking and cycling trail meanders its way around this now recreational lake which plays host to many fishing folk, canoeists and seasonal swimmers, in addition to those exercising body and soul on the trail.

Unfortunately dogs are not permitted in respect to the native fauna that inhabits this area and it is quite common to surprise small black wallabies grazing in the late afternoon and evening.

GZ is just over 1km from the Crusoe Rd car park via the walking track travelling in an anti clockwise direction and should you wish to continue around the circuit and back over the original reservoir retaining wall, add about 2 more kms.

You will be seeking a small container holding a log book, stash note, pen and a memento to reward the FTF, placed in close proximity to a very impressive picnic table with ample seating around.

With a slight breeze in the tree tops creating that peaceful and sometimes eerie sound particular to pine trees this is a very pleasant place to rest a while if circumnavigating the lake, or perhaps picnicking may be on your agenda.

Please be aware with the popularity of this venue some caution will be required when searching as cyclists, in particular, can appear both quickly and silently.

Good Luck.
