Geocache Description:

A short walk along the Northern Reaches of the Preston to Kendal canal

The locks at Tewitfield raised the Lancaster canal a total of 75ft in half a mile,these were the only locks on the 57 miles of canal beteen Preston and Kendal,and were in use beteen1819 and 1942.
