The church:
All Saints Church in Kenton is a perpendicular styled building with the second tallest bell tower in Devon at around 120 feet. The church on the site at this time is thought to date from around 1360 to 1370, but was probably proceeded by a building built around a hundred years earlier. Archaeological surveys carried out in 2006 revealed walls from two earlier churches on the site as well as the remains of a medieval bell foundry.
The cache:
This is intended to be a straightforward two-stage multi. It requires the collection of some numbers from two monuments within the churchyard and the finding of a final container a short distance away. You are looking for a small (two inch square) tupperware container within a camoflaged velcro bag. You'll need a pen to sign the log.
The headline coordinates will take you to the main sign for the church.
The sign shows the telephone number for Reverend John Williams as 01392 824AB3
Head to your right (if facing the sign) and up the footpath to the right of the churchyard. Some gravestones are visible from the footpath. One is the grave of William and Lucy Lamacraft and their daughter Dorothy.
William died in 193C and Lucy died in 195D
Now go to the top right of the churchyard itself and find the ornate tomb of Major General Edward Mortlock Studd.
He died at Oxton on Eth December 187F
The coordinates of the physical cache are:
N 50º DB . (C + D) (C + E) (B / A)
W 003º (A * A * F) . F (E - C) (B - F)
The cache itself should be a fairly straightforward find. Tree cover may effect GPS accuracy so please allow a small tolerance in the calculated coordinates. The clue will help if needed. Please replace securely and re-conceal well. Many thanks.
