Dönerstag began in 2007 when German cachers met at kebab shops around the country all at the same time. The tradition caught on!
These special events are held each year on a Thursday. In German, this makes the name “Dönerstag” a pun: The German word for Thursday is “Donnerstag.” Kebab translates to “Döner.”
Last year, over 6000 players attended 233 Dönerstag events. The events were held all over Europe, from Germany and Austria to the United Kingdom and Switzerland.
Join us as we virtually celebrate Dönerstag here in Upland, California at Legends Burger.
Hang out with other geocachers, swap stories, enjoy a good meal and earn the first-ever Dönerstag souvenir, just by attending this event.
The event will start at 6 PM in the evening and end at 8 PM or when we get tired of yakking at each other. Meet us at Legends, located at 2420 W Arrow Rte # 1D in Upland.
Take MetroLink to the Montclair station if you like and make a short walk north, or drive there. It's your choice. Either way, we look forward to seeing you there.
