Geocache Description:

Due to scheduling conflicts this event was moved up a weekend to Sept 22nd. Please adjust accordingly

We are looking for volunteers for a cleanup of Fort Pike Historical Site in New Orleans on Sept 22nd, 07:30 AM to 11:30 AM. Any local business that would like to donate supplies would be greatly appreciated. We are also looking for support by the news media to cover the story of the renovations being made. The coordinator for this project is Patrick Duhe of the Fort Pike and Fort Macomb Preservation Group. E-mail patrickduhe@gmail.com or call 985-445-2808. Geocachers can contact Frank Bladen aka nannerman13 on geocaching.com or nannerman13@yahoo.com or (225)572-1825 All photos or videos needed for media are by BluSkye Aerial Photography & Video LLC. E-mail at bluskyeaerial@gmail.com or call 985-285-1370. The more help we get the closer we are to re open Fort Pike.

Organizers are asking that any who help out to bring:
1. Protective Clothes (gloves, lightweight pants or jeans, lightweight shirts, and boots)
2. Eye Protection (safety glasses if using any lawn mowing equipment)
3. Hydration (cool water)
4. Sun Protection (sun screen)
5. Bug Protection (bugs are pretty bad out there sometimes)

The target cleanup area will be the Front and Sides of the Fort and a quick mow and trim of the entrance and boat launch areas. We will need heavy trimmers and bush hogs to help with heavy brush growing around the area!

We also need the following to help out:
1. Mowers (Riding Mowers are needed desperately!)
2. Trimmers
3. Chainsaws or Tree Pruning Chainsaws for thick bushes
3. Yard Tools
3. Extra Gloves
4. Safety Glasses

::DISCLAIMER::
Since this is a volunteer activity and to protect myself and the state from liability, I will also require anyone who wants to help to sign off on a release of liability waiver. Also photos and/or videos may be taken of the event to promote awareness.
