Geocache Description:


 

Pekan Quarry was previously known as Ho Man Choo Quarry but was renamed to reflect its proximity to the main village (“pekan” is Malay for “town”) of Pulau Ubin. Today, though it is no longer in used for mining granite, at certain periods of time, Pekan Quarry transforms into a town full of herons.

The geocache is placed to the right of where the birds eye view is!

“DISPOSE OF WASTE PROPERLY” Welcome to Pekan Quarry Viewing Point! Pekan Quarry, previously known as Ho Man Choo Quarry, was renamed based on its proximity to the main village of Pulau Ubin. “Pekan” is Malay for “Town”. This quarry has its pits filled up with rainwater and it overflows at a drainage point that leads to the sea. There’s a look-out point to enable visitors to enjoy the scenic views of the quarry. However, ensure that you dispose your waste carefully to enable future users to enjoy the clean and scenic space!
