An old
fashion ammo can hide high up in the Naugatuck State
Forest.
Ever since my visit to
Cache Around the Rock by keyhoaty I've had a waypoint in my GPS
that said "put 1". Today I put the ammo box in the pack and headed
out for a couple of finds and a hide. It's not where I was
intending it to be, but it's a nice spot to sit in the sun.
No marked trails. I used a combination of bushwacking and deer
trails to get here. If you find a better way let us all know!
There's an old fire ring, if you spot it look downhill for the rock
the cache is under.
Any more than a few inches of snow and this one will be really
tough.
Hunting is allowed in this forest. While placing this I crossed
paths with four hunters and one fresh blood trail. Wear orange or
cache on Sundays during Hunting season.
