The placement of this webcam was at one time quite strategic. Anyone who took part in Apex Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resource activities in the past (pre-2000) might know why.
<My instructions here from 2005 crack me up so much I decided to keep them in there. Obvioulsy with the mainstream usage of smart phones this can all be accomplished simply by the geocacher using the screen save capability of a smart phone. Or stay old school and follow the instructiosn below. This is a no judgement zone....>
Cooperative Friend's job: They need to be sitting at a computer with an internet connection viewing the following website: https://www.apexnc.org/435/Downtown-Webcam. They will need to be able to answer the phone when you call in order for them to know when to capture the image. The way to save the picture from the website will vary by browser. Usually right mouse clicking on the image will bring up a menu that gives "Save picture as..." or "Save image as..." type option. They should choose this option and save it as a file that they will send to you to post.
Cacher's job: Go to the coordinates, contact (cell phone will be handy) your friend, pose/hold your GPSr up, and smile! Have you friend email the image file to you for you to upload when you log your find.
