Geocache Description:

Oh, the Places You'll Go!
with apologies to Dr. Seuss...

Oh! The places you’ll go when you’re out geocaching.
It might be a park for some first-to-find dashing.

You might find yourself out in big parking lots,
Or a playground especially built just for tots.

You can look under lampposts down any dark street,
You can go where you please, you’re in charge of your feet.

But my favorite hiding spots in the whole nation,
Have three things in common - they all are: location.

But where is this place that new caches should grow?
It’s often a place that you never did know.

It could be a place that is quite hard to get to.
Your feet might stay dry, but they just might get wet too.

They could be near your home, maybe right out your door.
But the best place is one you’ve not been to before.

In order to find it you go out and look.
It might be in a cranny, or even a nook.

You’ll find them in trees, and you’ll find them near bees.
If unlucky the places you find make you sneeze.

You can hunt them alone, or with help from another,
Your uncle, a neighbor, two friends or your brother.

This is a great park, you can bike, hike, or jog,
Or watch critters go by from your perch on a log.

You can bring your pole with if you want to go fishin’,
But to plant a new cache here you MUST have permission.

The trail makes a loop, you can go either way.
Take the other way back, make the most of your day.

Find the footpath with wood that is stacked at both ends,
It cuts off the short way along a small bend.

It's not far off the path, not much whacking of bushes,
But please watch where you step so the plants don't get smushes.

Nothing bad in the cache, now we’ve all seen the list,
If I hear bad stuff’s in there I’m gonna be mad.

A wise cacher once said “A good cache is a gift,
From the hider to you” so don’t give it short shrift.

Please read the cache page since the writer worked hard.
If the cache is a gift, the description’s the card.

If you don’t like my poem and think you could do better,
Then write your log in anapestic tetrameter.

But if Seuss were a cacher I think we would find,
A whole series of caches that would blow our minds.
