Welcome to an old railroad park now known as Luster Park
In the early 1900s this park was a stopping off place for the old Rock Island Railroad. The old steam engine would take on water here. The pond that was used to refill steam engines is long gone, but can still be seen where it was located behind the police station. It seems the pond was used for an ice skating rink in the mid 1900s by local kids. The pond was drained when a 12 year old child fell through the ice and drowned. Small park, quiet stop, read a book or swing as the kids play.
