We already spent our silver wedding at the summit of the Pico del Teide. At that time we went on foot to the summit, descended to the overnight stay to the Refugio Altavista and the next morning rose to the sunrise once more to the summit.
Our golden wedding we celebrated once more on the summit of the Pico del Teide. This time we mastered the rise in three steps. On the wedding day we were at the summit and spent the night afterwards again in the Refugio Altavista, before we descended to the street.
In thankful recollection of this day we lay this Cache.
Today, on the 28th of April, the Teideveilchen stood already in full blossom. The Teideveilchen, viola cheiranthifolia Humb. et Bonpl., was described by Alexander von Humboldt and Aime Bonpland for the first time. It grows only here at the Teide in heigths between 2600 and 3400 m. It appears mostly only at the end of May out of the stones for the blossom. Today, moreover, blossomed also a lot of Teidelack, Erysimum scoparium.
Please, treat the cache carefully. We are 77 and 81 years old and cannot often climb up for the maintainance.

Bereits unsere Silberne Hochzeit verbrachten wir auf dem Gipfel des Teide. Damals gingen wir zu Fuß zum Gipfel, stiegen zur Übernachtung zum refugio Altavista ab und stiegen am nächsten Morgen zum Sonnenaufgang erneut zum Gipfel.
Unsere Goldene Hochzeit feierten wir erneut auf dem Gipfel des Pico del Teide. Diesmal bewältigten wir den Aufstieg in drei Etappen. Am Hochzeitstag waren wir auf dem Gipfel und übernachteten anschließend wieder im Refugio Altavista, bevor wir zur Straße abstiegen.
In dankbarer Erinnerung an diesen Tag legen wir diesen Cache.
Heute, am 28. April, standen die Teideveilchen schon in voller Blüte. Das Teideveilchen, viola cheiranthifolia Humb. et Bonpl., wurde von Alexander von Humboldt und Aime Bonpland erstmals beschrieben. Es wächst nur hier am Teide in einer Höhe von 2600 bis 3400 m. Es erscheint meist erst Ende Mai aus dem Geröll zur Blüte. Außerdem blühte heute viel Teidelack, Erysimum scoparium.
Bitte behandle den Cache sorgfältig. Wir sind 77 und 81 Jahre alt und können nicht oft zur Wartung hoch steigen.
