Accessible for I-84 eastbound traffic only. Large paved parking area can accommodate several semis and numerous cars. View is to the west overlooking Pendleton, McKay Reservoir, Pilot Rock and the lower Columbia Basin country. Located about 1/2 way to the top of the Blue Mountains.
This is accessible year around. You do not have to leave the paved area. This is a log only. Log is "Rite in the Rain" paper. Please rehide carefully. Other caches here in the past have been muggled. A nice place to take a break and stretch your legs. You can even get out of the sun or rain under the gazebo. Pause a moment to read about "Oregon's Scenic Highways". A photo opportunity - I'll bet you can out-do my photo! Can frequently see white-tail deer, pheasants and other animals and birds. You might just catch a great sunset! On a clear day you may see mountains in the distance. There are no restrooms, water or trash receptacles, but Deadman Pass Rest Area is just a few miles ahead. Please practice cache in - trash out (CITO)
