Go north on U.S. Hwy 54 past Tularosa OR south from Carrizozo, turn east at Three Rivers. Check out the Three Rivers Petroglyphs, very unique. Proceed to the Three Rivers Campground, located in the White Mountain Wilderness. Start at the 44 Trailhead, walk for approximately 15 minutes, while enjoying the scenery and listening to the flowing stream. Fall is an especially beautiful time of the year to be in this neck of the woods.
The cache container is a army green ammo box. I replaced the cache with a new and improved one, since the last one grew legs from being too close to the stream.
Apache Cachey passed away on February 29, 2004. I have adopted her caches and will continue to maintain them in memory of her. As a fellow geocacher, I am requesting your assistance in helping me to maintain her caches in a condition that will honor her. I can be contacted through her geocaching name or my own. Desert Trek
