In addition to the normal logbook and trade items, it also contains a letterbox stamp, inkpad, and stamp book. Please do not remove the stamp, ink pad, or stamp book. THEY ARE NOT TRADE ITEMS!

At the top of Castle Rock in Edinburgh Scotland is Edinburgh Castle. With evidence of civilization dating back to the Bronze Age, there are records of a fortification dating back to the Roman occupation of Great Briton. A fortified castle has been present since the 12th Century.

Today, Edinburgh castle is the second most visited paid site in the United Kingdom, and is considered the icon of Scotland.
Interesting facts about Edinburgh Castle:
-It houses the Stone of Scone, on which all Kings of Scotland and all Kings or Queens of the United Kingdom since James I (James VI) have sat during their coronation.
-It also houses the Honours of Scotland, or Scottish Crown Jewels, Septre, and Sword of State
-Mons Meg, a 15th century canon which could once throw a 300 pound rock up to 2 miles still resides inside
-It’s oldest building is St. Margarets Chapel, built in 1130
-It contains the National War Museum, the Scottish War Museum, and three other museums
-It contains an active dog cemetery.
-It is a working castle, housing a Scottish Military garrison, which guards the Honours of Scotland and fires the “One o’clock gun” among other duties
-It has been besieged at least 26 times, and is consider one of the most attacked structures in the world

This letterbox commemorates the origin castle. It is located on the edge of the Mogollon Rim, which resembles the original castle sitting atop the volcanic castle rock.

To find this letterbox, park at the parking area, then head 220 degrees southwest to the posted coordinates, where you will find the “ruins” of an old “fortress.” [see the waypoint crossing the paved path, after which you may find a “trail” marked with rock cairns] From here, go due north (0 degrees) along the edge of the rim approximately 170 feet, to a small trail which goes down off the rim to the south west. The large stone here covers the cache which is accessible slightly below. Leave the large rocks to the north alone, and move the smaller rocks to access the container. There is a slight grade, but not a steep drop-off.

This is a letterbox hybrid. In addition to the normal logbook and trade items, it also contains a letterbox stamp, inkpad, and stamp book. Please do not remove the stamp, ink pad, or stamp book. THEY ARE NOT TRADE ITEMS!

There is a letter hidden inside the cache in the logbook: make note of it for the upcoming Scottish Sorcerer.

A basic letterbox hybrid should consists of the following (this is my criteria not that of Groundspeak):
1. a stamp
2. a distinct pad of high quality art paper for collecting stamps, that is distinct from the log book, and is large enough to leave impressions from your own personal stamp.
3. An inkpad. Some geocachers omit this because it can dry out, but water can be added to the pad if needed.
A "true" letterbox would also have the following elements:
4. a hand carved stamp
5. require route finding addition to GPS coordinates: in other words the GPS leads you to the starting or intermediate point, but then a description is necessary to find the final container.
6. Be listed on letterboxing.org or similar listing.

This is a true letterbox hybrid, having all of the above components.
