Geocache Description:

We urban ants spend a lot of time in the inner city and we want to introduce you to another of the interesting parks we have discovered.

This is a fairly new park in Scarboro. It can be a challenge to get into as the community has closed off several streets to discourage traffic from cutting through. There is a new kids park in the area and it is not an off leash area but it is dog friendly.

A bit of local history, Ross Wallace was a building contractor who was very active in building up the Scarboro area during the real estate frenzy in early 1912. He built three houses in the area including his own at 222 Scarboro. This was a fabulous three story mansion with a turret and extensive porches overlooking the city. During the depression a new owner decided the house was too large and had the second floor removed. The renovation involved installing jacks to hold up the third floor while the second floor walls were removed. The upper floor and roof was then lowered down to sit on large blocks of ice which allowed the jacks to be removed. The melting ice then allowed the third floor and roof to slowly settle down onto the next floor.

The cache is located near the house. The cache is a camo'd peanut butter jar. The cache contains a FTF certificate and gift, a logbook and SWAG.

Enjoy!
