This multi cache will introduce you to some of Bangor, Maine's early history. Bangor is known throughout Maine as the Queen City. Lights on the banister atop the Thomas Hill Standpipe are often referred to as the city's crown jewels. Bangor incorporated as a city in 1834, Charles P. Roberts noted that "the town came forth like a star in the forehead of morning as the Queen City of the East", a nickname that exits to this day.
The posted coordinates take you to a downtown parking area as a help when visiting locations C, D, E ,F for those unfamiliar with the area.In order to find the physical cache you must visit the following locations:

When you locate these places you will learn some of Bangor's early history. You will need to write down the date associated with each location. After visiting each site, put the years in order from earliest to latest. Next use the correctly ordered list and the numbers from the key to fill the coordinated for the final cache. Only one marker or plaque in an area is used to determine a date for any letter location. If more than one date appears the use the earlier one. Dates may be specific or refer to a period of time. F= Be careful! Watch traffic while spotting. . . at street level. Trust your Geo-skills if your GPS is bouncy!

The cache is a large clear geocache lock-and-lock box that contains a logbook and pen; water gun; world marble & postcard; pocket pack of Kleenex; 2 pencils; 3 Lady bugs; Parachute man; and a patch to start. There are several Travel Bugs and a prize for FTF. It can be found at:

Many thanks to mainiac 1957 for Brewer by Numbers which inspired me create this multi. I hope you enjoyed the tour of some of Bangor's early history. I also hope you enjoy this being an opportunity for Maine's Alphanumeric Cache Challenge's "Q", another favorite of mine.
