*gln: ARCHIVING ABANDONED CACHE

Greetings DiceMan71,

Looks like our timing is off and It’s time to say goodbye to this cache.

Since I haven't any maintenance here in a very long time, I am going to assume that your priorities have changed and you’ve gone in a different direction.

Archiving due to lack of maintenance is permanent.
CACHE ARCHIVAL IS PERMANENT.

Let me know if I can be of assistance in the future.

Thanks a MILLION for all you have done, Glenn

Geocache Description:

THE SLAGA TWELVE DAYS OF CACHEMAS ARE BACK!!!

Take your marks, Get Set, CACHE!!!!

Here’s how it works: For 12 consecutive days beginning December 13th (Day 1), a new cache will be published every day until December 24th (Day 12). If you are able to First to Find, FTF, one of these daily caches, an FTF Cachemas Ornament will be in the container for you to keep. Once again, L Frank has designed a unique ornament that can be converted to a cache container for a future hide; or, you may keep it, your choice. PLEASE, if you get an FTF on one of the 12 days, do not go for another one until day 13; let someone else have the fun.

Again, there will be a Bonus Cache on the 13th day, December 25th. EVERYONE is eligible to find the bonus whether or not you have FTFed a Cachemas hide. This cache can only be found by using the codes written on the inside of the container lid of each daily cache. Keep these codes and use them to solve the location of the Bonus cache which will publish on the final day, December 25th. The Bonus solution will be included in the final day Cache description and I am promised, it is not a difficult solution.

THE BONUS CACHE CONTAINS A LARGE PREMIUM GEOCOIN AS WELL AS AN ORNAMENT

Have fun and remember to thank Brandt Teske, aka 87preludea20a3, in your log. He brought this great series to St. Louis.

Geocache Description:

This mystery cache is not at the listed coordinates, but located somewhere in Arnold City Park, located off Jeffco Blvd. This 68- acre park has an 8-acre fishing lake, 4 pavilions (each with electricity and a BBQ pit), a dog park, a playground, and trails to hike and cache on. It is located very close to the Meramec River so there's occasional flooding. Please observe park rules and hours, and respect road closure signs if posted.

Whether you are a traditionalist and stick to “White Christmas” and “It’s a Wonderful Life,” or prefer more modern movies like "Elf" and "Fred Claus," watching Christmas movies with the family is a holiday tradition on par with opening presents and eating a sugary breakfast.

Out of curiosity I did a search for the most popular Christmas movies of all time. There are a LOT of opinions (and lists) on this topic, but I liked the American Movie Classics' (AMC) top 20 Christmas movies, as selected by viewers: http://www.amc.com/movie-guide/christmas-movies

Our family agrees with some of these choices (it's a decent list), but we'd make some changes in choices & ranking. In my humble opinion these are the top 15 Christmas movies of all time. It includes many on AMC's list, plus a few additions:

  1. Elf: After inadvertently wreaking havoc on the elf community due to his ungainly size, a man raised as an elf at the North Pole is sent to the U.S. in search of his true identity.
  2. Scrooged: A selfish, cynical T.V. executive is haunted by three spirits bearing lessons on Christmas Eve.
  3. The Muppet Christmas Carol: The Muppet characters tell their version of the classic tale of an old and bitter miser's redemption on Christmas Eve.
  4. Fred Claus: Fred Claus, Santa's bitter older brother, is forced to move to the North Pole.
  5. All I Want for Christmas: Hallie and Ethan’s divorced mother is about to remarry. When Hallie goes to visit Santa Claus, she asks for an unusual gift - she wants her parents back together again.
  6. A Charlie Brown Christmas: Repelled by the commercialism he sees around him, Charlie Brown tries to find the true meaning of Christmas.
  7. Holiday Inn: At an inn which is only open on holidays, a crooner and a hoofer vie for the affections of a beautiful up-and-coming performer.
  8. Home Alone: An 8-year old troublemaker must protect his home from a pair of burglars when he is accidentally left home alone by his family during Christmas vacation.
  9. Frosty the Snowman: A living snowman and a little girl struggle to elude a greedy magician who is after the snowman's magic hat.
  10. How the Grinch Stole Christmas: On the outskirts of Whoville, there lives a green, revenge- seeking Grinch who plans on ruining the Christmas holiday for all of the citizens of the town.
  11. Home Alone 2: Lost in New York: One year after Kevin was left home alone and had to defeat a pair of bumbling burglars, he accidentally finds himself in New York City, and the same criminals are not far behind.
  12. A Mom for Christmas: A young girl who wants a mom for the Christmas holidays gets her wish when a department store mannequin comes to life.
  13. Miracle on 34th Street: When a nice old man who claims to be Santa Claus is institutionalized as insane, a young lawyer decides to defend him by arguing in court that he is the real thing.
  14. The Santa Clause: When a man inadvertently kills Santa on Christmas Eve, he finds himself magically recruited to take his place.
  15. Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer: A misfit reindeer and his friends look for a place that will accept them.

Coordinates can be obtained from the cache description above, and will get you quite close to GZ. Geosense should let you find the container; please put it back exactly how you found it.
