Having moved back to Cardiff recently having been away for many years I thought it was about time I organised a geocaching event to meet some of the local caching community.
Geocaching events are useful places for those new to the game to pick up hints and tips. The event also welcomes any geocachers who happen to to visiting the area
One of the things I've had to get used to is typing in different coordinates. The way I've been remembering that we are at West 3 degrees is by this song title and of course now I can't get it out of my head.
The Gatekeeper is a large Wetherspoon pub in the centre of Cardiff.
It is easily accessible by public transport. There is parking nearby with I understand a flat rate of £3.50 for those entering after 17.00. Cheaper parking is available a little further away e.g. in the areas behind the City Hall and Museum. I think there may be free street parking in Canton over the River Taff to the west but check for restrictions.
There are entrances to the pub both on Westgate Street and Womanby Street. Wheelchair access is via the Womanby St entrance and there is a lift to the top floor.
The pub serves food and I believe Monday is Mexican Monday though a full menu should be available.
