EMD 1200 Switch Engines Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

Panther in the Den: Happened to be driving by and was dismayed to see that the engines are gone. :( All three.

Also noticed the images were not connected any longer so I refreshed the links.

Time to go.

Thanks for visiting!

Geocache Description:

A Magnetic Keyholder. Just northeast of the cache are two fine examples of restored switch engines. Illinois Central Railroad Units 1206 and 1209. Look to the west across the lot next door and you will see a third, Unit 1208. What an abundance! :)

An EMD SW1200 is a diesel switcher locomotive built by General Motors Electro-Motive Division between January 1954 and May 1966. Power was provided by an EMD 567C 12-cylinder engine which generated 1200 horsepower (890 kW). Late SW1200s built in 1966 were built with the 567E 12-cylinder engine.
