Geocache Description:

There’s is no cache hidden on the coordinates above. They are from a holiday house where I spend my New Year’s vacation.

Preparing this holiday and looking for small trips, I read on the internet that the castle of Moudreux was worth a visit. Unfortunately I could not immediately find the exact location of this ruined castle. After some research I found out that “Moudreux” is an old word, used in this part of the country, which means “Assassins” or “Murderers”. Now I was really fascinated and I decided to seek for the castle’s location. .

Quite some research gave me a possible location which was only about half an hour drive by car from our holiday house. During my holiday I went to the spot and … I found it! I can tell you now that the place is really worth a visit and since I placed a cache over there you have at least one extra reason to get there. .

Due to the fact that nowadays much more information about the ruins location can be found on the internet than 14 years ago when I hided it I had to modify the difficulty rating for this cache ! Maybe now it is even much too easy !!

So now it is your turn to take the challenge and to start the quest for the castle’s location. I won’t give you more hints then I had. The only one I had were these words : “Chateau des Moudreux” .

Once you located the ruin, go there and you will easily find the castle’s chapel. The cache is hidden at 230°, about 5 meters from the chapel’s entrance. The cache is hidden under the remains of a stone wall.

Please be discrete and do not try to provide any hints in your logs ! .
