This series is named for the Back Roads of Maries County. It was 40+ years ago that we moved here to build a rock house and start our new life. We've placed caches at various locations along the back roads that have had some meaning for us during the time that we've lived here. While out placing caches I realized that this is also an opportunity to show off some back country roads to people who don't often drive them!
This location gives a good view to the south of the former Wheeler School, Wheeler Church of Christ, and Wheeler Cemetery. Wheeler School is shown and named on my 1948 USGS topo map, and the church is shown as a map symbol.
