The BledsoeGeo GeoTour

Find history, outdoor adventure, great food, charming towns and spectacular views as you discover the stories and natural beauty of Bledsoe County and the Sequatchie Valley. Let your GPS or smartphone guide you on an adventure through the rolling hills of the beautiful Sequatchie Valley. Special geocaches have been hidden at sites across the area and there are rewards for those who find and log these geocaches while visiting our Official GeoTour Partners along the way.

Bledsoe County and the Sequatchie Valley

The first settlers entered the Sequatchie Valley in the late 1700s through Bledsoe County, named for Anthony Bledsoe, a Revolutionary War patriot who migrated to Tennessee from Virginia and was later killed in an Indian attack. With stories of family feuds, moonshine wars, and Civil War conflict, the area’s rich history resulted in the nickname “Bloody Bledsoe” a century ago. Today, enjoy the peaceful surroundings, friendly people, and unique landscapes you will encounter.

Due to the "off the grid" nature of some of these beautiful locations, we strongly suggest that app users download the geocaches along the tour for offline use, as cell coverage can be spotty as you explore the valley. WIFI is avaialble at a few of the caches to help you check in and share your adventures along the way!
