Geocache Description:

This is a series of 18 caches on a 5.5 mile circle route from Wellesbourne to charlcote and back to wellesbourne. The caches are named after real peoples funny or unusual names. The 5.5 mile route has only 1 stile to get over and no animals in the fields your have to cross (At present) Very dog friendly. From Wellesbourne, a Warwickshire village that has its own large airfield, the route soon leads out into open countryside with far-off views. Field- and woodland paths follow to reach a lengthy stretch on a farm drive that runs alongside fields and meadows and from whence the spires of the nearby Hampton Lucy can be seen. The lovely village of Charlecote has some charming old cottages and houses and the historic Charlecote House stands in wonderful deer parkland, landscaped by Capability Brown. It is a National Trust property that draws many visitors, the beautiful Tudor house having had strong associations with both Queen Elizabeth I and Shakespeare. It is but a mile back to Wellesbourne from here and the route follows the course of the River Dene, eventually to cross it on a large footbridge before following the narrow path that leads into the churchyard at Wellesbourne. The full route details are given in the details of cache # 1 Eileen Dover
