Geocache Description:

It's a lovely stroll along a weather beaten fire trail. So much wildlife to hear and if your lucky after rain you can see tadpoles swimming in the puddles

It was a miracle we found it. She was hiding in the bush. But how could she hide, she was so BIG!!
Moby Dick it seems had left the Ocean. Yes here in the heart of Sydney was a huge whale!! But what is she hiding? Seek and ye shall find.

This interesting walk in the upper section of Lane Cove National Park crosses both Byles Creek and Devlins Creek, and showcases a rich variety of flora and fauna. Expect to see abundant bird life including many small birds such as honeyeaters, wattlebirds, wrens and you may even spot a roosting Powerful Owl. Look out for the 'eye' of whale rock which is formed by weathering of concentric banding in the sandstone. The sandstone ridge line is particularly rich in heath and woodland plant species.
