OK, this is a reverse Whereigo. For those with short attention spans and who know everything you need to know for this exercise, you can skip the “LONG ATTENTION SPAN SECTION" below. WARNING, SOME MIDDLE SCHOOL MATH IS INVOVLED!
LONG ATTENTION SPAN SECTION
I was leery of these types of Whereigos until I was visiting my in-laws in Idaho. My muggle brother-in-law really wanted to try Pride of Lewiston A reverse Wherigo. He, I and two muggle niece-in-laws headed out. It didn’t take as long as I thought and it was fun for all.
The Whereigo cartridge needed was written by -Waldmeister- . Until you get close to the GZ all the cartridge will tell you is how far you are from the GZ—just the distance, not the bearing. So it’s up to you to use the distances you get to find the cache. For those of you who are math whizzes you know what to do. Though I have a BS in math and numerical analysis, I’m not longer one of those: if I ever was. The way to find the cache is to do what your GPSr does: triangulate. The best approach is to take three different readings at the corners of a triangle. It would be great if the GZ ends up somewhere inside the triangle. If you achieve this, you should be able to identify the location of the GZ within less than ¼ mile. The closer you happen to be to the GZ, the smaller and more accurate the result will be.
If you want a real challenge you can take all your readings along a straight line. Technically this can yield the solution with the least number of readings, other than one where luckily you’re standing within 100 feet of the GZ. In this case the readings need to be on the radius of a circle with the GZ in the center; if you can do this, you should be able to find the cache in two or three readings (there are an infinite number of these cases). On the other hand if you take your readings on a tangent to any circle that has the GZ as its center, then it is possible you’ll never find the GZ (there are also an infinite number of these cases).

I was just joking, there’s nothing that follows that’s all that important. It won’t save any lives or billions of dollars, euros, pounds, rubles, renminbis, rupees, or yen. Go for it! If you arrive at the coordinates and find the cache missing, send me an email with the final coordinates letting me know that the cache has gone missing. Do not put the coordinates in your log.
