Geocache Description:

Another urban micro- almost a nano. New location is a few yards "uptown" from coordinates and away from prying eyes!

The Odd Couple was first a very successful Neil Simon play (first run 1965-7) based on the experiences of the writer's brother Danny. Then it became a successful movie (1968) and finally a successful Television show that asked the question....can two divorced men live together without driving each other insane?.
The show ran on prime time from 1970 to 1975 (and now for the rest of eternity on syndication, cable, video and DVD, etc) and starred Jack Klugman and Tony Randle as (repectively)Felix and Oscar- the two characters that these actors are probably best know for.
It was shot in studios, with the very occassional "stock Shot" of the streets of NYC or of the two characters walking down a street.
There is one very well known and short scene of the two actors crossing a street when a car lunges forward provocating a stronge response from Jack Klugman. The shot was similar to one in "Midnight Cowboy" and legend has it that it was unrehearsed- the car was not suppose to move- and Mr Klugman's reaction real. Set up or homage? I'm not sure.
Did you know that from 1982-3 the show was reinvented with an African American cast!
Anyway- enough trivia, time for the cache details. So, eventhough this show was really all shot inside of a studio, in the opening credits you see the two outside of a real practical location that stood in for the front entrance of the swank Park Ave. apartment that they shared. So, go and get it- it's a classic!
Not on private property and of course...BYOP
