Klockstapeln som återfinns här vid Stockaryds hembygdsförening är en miniatyr av Stockaryd kyrkas gamla klockstapel från 1401.

The bell tower that is found here at Stockaryd´s native district association is a miniatur of the bell tower of Stockaryds old church, dated to the year 1401.
1908 skulle Stockaryds gamla kyrka rivas och en ny byggas. Klockstapeln utropades på auktion, men bud på 106 kr av en Stockarydsbo godtogs ej. Ryktet spred sig till föreningen Smålands Gille i Göteborg. Efter en extra kyrkostämma i Stockaryds församling fick Smålands Gille överta klockstapeln.
Efter nedmontering och transport till Göteborg så monterades den upp i Slottsskogen bredvid Smålandsstugan den 27/ 9 1910.

The old church was replaced by a new church in 1908-1910 and the bell tower was auctioned out. The highest bid (104 swedeish kronor ) came from an inhabitant in Stockaryd, but this bid wasn´t accepted by the church association. The rumour of the bell tower reached the association ” Smålands Gille” in Gothenburg. After a meeting in the church of Stockaryd the bell tower was donated to association ”Smålands Gille”.
The bell tower was dismounted, transported and installed in the park ”Slottsskogen” in Gothenburg the 27th of september 1910, close to the Småland´s cottage place here. Location: 57.686413,11.948753, close to multi-cache GC1GHVR.
