"Verdunt" Park Traditional Geocache
listmaker: We just can't seem to find a spot we're happy with, so will archive this one. Hope someone more creative can find a place to put a cache in this nice little spot of green.

A quick find in a hidden area of Surrey Hills. Fairly hilly path.
“Verdunt” Park
Back Creek is one of the tributaries of Gardiners Creek; one of the major tributaries of the the Yarra River. One of the open sections of Back Creek runs through South Surrey Park, which is located in Surrey Hills and is bordered by Verdun Street, Delta Street, Essex and Riversdale Roads. There is a small playground at the Verdun Street entry.
The area has been extensively revegetated over recent years using indigenous and other suitable plants to provide a habitat for native birdlife and fauna and improve the ecological condition of the creek.
This first attempt at a hide is a traditional cache. The container is a 200ml Sistema, with initial contents in a green theme: green log book, rhinestones, new long, green beaded earrings, fabulous “diamond and silver” ring, recycled green lizard, brass and green enameled MTT members pass, light and dark green mini Sharpie markers and green eraser. BYO PEN!
Park in Verdun Street, near the playground at S 37°49.980, E 145° 05.639, and follow the path around, heading over and past the bridge, until you reach GZ. You'll be able to admire the revegetation work done by the Friends of Back Creek in this verdant oasis.
