Geocache Description:

Situated within Leasowes Park, Halesowen off A458. Large car park at the site. Last 100m can be muddy and last 10m steep. This is our dog Alfies favourite stomping ground.

The Leasowes is a 57 hectare site. Designed and laid out by local poet William Shenstone in 1743 to 1746. It is listed as a grade 1 on the English Heritage register of parks and gardens of special historic interest in England. Visitors Centre/wardens base open most days between 10.00 and 16.00 hours. After parking (if you don`t have a buggy!) make your way onto the tow path following the minature railway track until you reach a bench and steps. Now use your gps to find the cache. This diversion adds 2 minutes to your walk but gives you a fantastic view of the park! Stay on the main paths, they will lead you to within 20m of the cache. Approx 1 mile round trip. Original contents of ammo box First and second to find certificates First aid kit 2 Family Hodge whistles Carabina Playing cards Mirror 2 AA batteries Bottle opener Pocket radio Tissues Plastic toy This is our first cache so comments will be greatly appreciated! Happy Caching! Since placing the cache 13 years ago lots of work has been done to the paths, if you want to avoid the plank and steep bank, there is now a second path you can take. When you are approx 110m from ground zero take the left hand path uphill.
