Geocache Description:

Placed with kind permission of Callander Estate / Bespoke

From the Greenrig car park
there are many walking opportunities providing circular walks of different lenghts. The shortest route, round the Canada field is a 2 km path suitable for wheelchairs and takes visitors past Charlie's Stanes where Bonnie Prince Charlie is said to have watched the Battle of Falkirk Muir in 1746. The route then follows Drove Loan, an historic track used by drovers to bring cattle to the Falkirk Tryst. Other paths take you further afield providing beautiful views over the Carse of Stirling. The Falkirk Wheel is a gentle half hour walk along Lime Road, which gets its name from the cartage of lime from the Forth and Clyde Canal. The Antonine Wall and Roman fort at Roughcastle are also easily reached on foot from Greenrig.

As you walk around these trails you will have the oppertunity to see if you are quiet enough _ Roe deer, various woodland birds especially a favourite of mine the crossbills

The cache is a little more challenging than normal , you will have to see if you can measure up to the challenge
